2007 Coche-Dury Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru, Cote de Beaune, France
In the heart of Burgundy, where vineyards and tradition intertwine, lies the village of Meursault—home to some of the most revered names in winemaking: Dominique Lafon, Jean-Marc Roulot, Arnaud Ente, and others. Yet among these luminaries, one estate stands above the rest—Domaine Coche-Dury.
Renowned the world over, Coche-Dury is a benchmark for white Burgundy, its name synonymous with precision, purity, and age-worthy Chardonnay. While the domaine’s global reputation rests firmly on these exceptional whites, its reds—crafted from Pinot Noir—are equally compelling, offering a rare glimpse into the house style expressed through a different lens.
Domaine Coche-Dury represents the purest essence of winemaking, where tradition, dedication, and a profound connection to the land create some of the world's most coveted wines. Whether it’s their remarkable Corton-Charlemagne or the sought-after Meursault cuvées, each bottle from this iconic estate is a glimpse into the rich history and winemaking mastery that is Coche-Dury. As the next generation—Raphaël and Charline Coche—take up the mantle, the future of this storied domaine remains as bright as its celebrated past.
97 Points - Vinous
“Readers will have to be patient with the 2007 Corton-Charlemagne, as it is still remarkably young and tightly wound. Slate, crushed rocks, pear and herb notes begin to emerge as the wine sits in the glass, but only with great reluctance. The 2007 is both vivid and powerful and yet, today, it only shows a portion of its ultimate potential.” (AG) Review Date: 09/2016

“A wonderfully layered and relatively expressive nose features ripe but cool green fruit, apple, acacia blossom and ample mineral influence that continues onto the imposingly concentrated and powerful flavors that terminate in a lemon-infused and intensely stony finish. This is strikingly persistent and while there is some austerity present I would expect it to eventually dissipate. Note that while this certainly could be enjoyed now, I would suggest allowing it at least another few years to further flesh out. Tasted five times in the last two years, including twice in 2018, with mostly consistent notes.” (AM) Review Date: 04/2018
