2006 Coche-Dury Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru, Cote de Beaune, France
In the heart of Burgundy, where vineyards and tradition intertwine, lies the village of Meursault—home to some of the most revered names in winemaking: Dominique Lafon, Jean-Marc Roulot, Arnaud Ente, and others. Yet among these luminaries, one estate stands above the rest—Domaine Coche-Dury.
Renowned the world over, Coche-Dury is a benchmark for white Burgundy, its name synonymous with precision, purity, and age-worthy Chardonnay. While the domaine’s global reputation rests firmly on these exceptional whites, its reds—crafted from Pinot Noir—are equally compelling, offering a rare glimpse into the house style expressed through a different lens.
Domaine Coche-Dury represents the purest essence of winemaking, where tradition, dedication, and a profound connection to the land create some of the world's most coveted wines. Whether it’s their remarkable Corton-Charlemagne or the sought-after Meursault cuvées, each bottle from this iconic estate is a glimpse into the rich history and winemaking mastery that is Coche-Dury. As the next generation—Raphaël and Charline Coche—take up the mantle, the future of this storied domaine remains as bright as its celebrated past.

“In today’s day and age, it is virtually inconceivable to taste a ten year-old white Burgundy that is painfully young, but that is exactly the case with Coche’s 2006 Corton-Charlemagne. All the signatures are present – the trademark reduction, precision and salivating energy – and yet the 2006 needs time. The only question is how much. Hints of lime, slate, jasmine and white orchard fruit meld into the tense, pulsating finish.” (AG) Review Date: 09/2016

“A mildly exotic nose offers up notes of spiced apple, mango, wet stone and rose petal that precedes the impressively concentrated big-bodied flavors that possess very solid acid support on the ever-so-mildly toasty and hugely long finish. Compared to the most classically styled vintages this is not really my cup of white burgundy yet from a sheer quality standpoint this is irreproachable. Moreover there is so much dry extract present that this should have no trouble eventually integrating the residual wood. If I was going to choose a vintage among the more recent examples, this is the one that I would choose even though it will continue to age and improve.” (AM) Review Date: 04/2012
