2005 Coche-Dury Meursault Les Rougeots, Cote de Beaune, France
In the heart of Burgundy, where vineyards and tradition intertwine, lies the village of Meursault—home to some of the most revered names in winemaking: Dominique Lafon, Jean-Marc Roulot, Arnaud Ente, and others. Yet among these luminaries, one estate stands above the rest—Domaine Coche-Dury.
Renowned the world over, Coche-Dury is a benchmark for white Burgundy, its name synonymous with precision, purity, and age-worthy Chardonnay. While the domaine’s global reputation rests firmly on these exceptional whites, its reds—crafted from Pinot Noir—are equally compelling, offering a rare glimpse into the house style expressed through a different lens.
Domaine Coche-Dury represents the purest essence of winemaking, where tradition, dedication, and a profound connection to the land create some of the world's most coveted wines. Whether it’s their remarkable Corton-Charlemagne or the sought-after Meursault cuvées, each bottle from this iconic estate is a glimpse into the rich history and winemaking mastery that is Coche-Dury. As the next generation—Raphaël and Charline Coche—take up the mantle, the future of this storied domaine remains as bright as its celebrated past.
93 Points - Burghound
“This remains wonderfully fresh and while there is clearly some development on the beautifully layered nose of white orchard fruit, hazelnut and floral elements, it remains quite youthful. There is terrific density to the equally vibrant and intense medium-bodied flavors that coat the palate with dry extract, all wrapped in a balanced, powerful and impressively lingering finish. This is a huge, and stunningly good, villages that is easily of first-rate premier cru quality. To my taste this is still very much on the way up though it's not so young that it could not be enjoyed now if desired. Tasted twice recently with consistent notes. Try from 2017+” (AM) Review Date: 02/2014
